Decoupage

To the sample wastebaskets Decoupage, in French meaning "cutting out", is the art of cutting and pasting cutouts to simulate painting on a wood, metal, or glass surface and applying several, sometimes numerous, thin coats of varnish or lacquer to the pictures.

Originating in France in the 17th century, decoupage decorated bookcases, cabinets, and other pieces of furniture with graceful, charming, and colorful designs.

donAndres Designers go one step further.   donAndres, known for elaborate paintings on decorative furnishings (see other categories), offers a lighter version with hand-painted decoupage.

All the colors you see in the following were hand painted by artists with a collective experience of over 120 years.
