Stubbs KING CHARLES

The King Charles spaniel or toy spaniel had been a pet of the rich for many years. The breed was only one of many which King Charles II kept and also frequently lost. At least two advertisements seeking the lost or stolen dogs appeared in journals.   While many in Stubbs' time remained solely as pets, others were being selected and bred to evolve into a more athletic cocker spaniel.   Fanny, with her rather thick neck and middle-aged spread belonged to Sophia Musters and appeared in the portrait of Sophia by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

The octagonal "Revere pierce" tray is constructed of a heavy steel gage and its measurements are: 24"X17 1/2"

A table stand for it is also available (please check accessories)
