ROSA CENTIFOLIA

Between the two World Wars, Charles Chamberlain Hurst (l870-1947), originally a breeder of horses and orchids, studied the genetics of garden roses. He concluded that Rosa centifolia was a complex hybrid with four species in its ancestry.
The One Hundred Petals rose always has been the symbol of togetherness. From time unknown there has never been an English garden without them. It only blooms at midsummer caressed by the warmth of the sun.
