With exceptional strength, courage, and determination, the Scottie embodies the spirit of the the Scots of her homeland.   These traits are still the hallmark of the breed today. A hardy little dog, the Scottish Terrier can reach twelve or more years of age and maintain good health.

The scottie is another dog breed which has enjoyed popularity spanning centuries.   The most famous American Scottie is Fala, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's loyal companion. At the FDR Memorial in Washington, D.C., a sculpture on Fala stands guard at her master's feet.
